Stainless Steel (SS)
Rust-resistant, easy to wipe clean and long lasting, so it suits busy and humid commercial kitchens.
Forno Sethi is a gas tandoor manufacturer in India, based in Burari, Delhi and making tandoors since 1987. Our gas tandoor is a real clay drum tandoor heated by a single gas burner, so you get the same tandoori taste and wall-baked naan, with the speed and easy control of gas. It runs on LPG or PNG and is made for restaurants, hotels, dhabas, cloud kitchens and caterers. We make gas tandoors in 28, 30, 32, 34 and 36 inch sizes, and we can fit a gas burner on any of our other tandoor sizes too, square or round, in MS, SS or copper.
Price depends on the size, material and your city. Send us your details on WhatsApp and we send an exact quote.

What is a gas tandoor? A gas tandoor is a clay tandoor that is heated by a gas burner instead of charcoal. The burner sits at the bottom of the tandoor and heats the clay wall, where you bake naan and roti, while tikka and kebab cook on skewers. You light it, set the flame and cook, with no coal to light and no ash to clear.
Looking for another fuel? See our restaurant tandoors (charcoal, gas or hybrid) or the electric tandoor.
Real Clay Tandoor Heat – The cooking chamber is clay, so naan sticks and blisters on the wall and tikka chars the way a tandoor should.
Quick to Start – Light the burner and the tandoor heats up quickly, with no charcoal to light and wait for.
Easy Heat Control – Turn the flame up for a rush and down for slow hours. The temperature is steady through service.
Cleaner Kitchen – No ash, no coal storage and much less smoke than a charcoal tandoor.
LPG or PNG – Run it on a cylinder or on piped natural gas. The burner nozzle is set for the gas you choose.
Glass Wool Insulation – We insulate with glass wool between the clay drum and the outer body, instead of the traditional sand and clay fill. In our own comparison this saves up to about 30% fuel, and it keeps the outside of the tandoor cooler.
Any Size, MS, SS or Copper – Choose the size and the outer body that suits your kitchen. A gas burner can be fitted on any of our tandoor sizes.
Short answer: A gas pipe feeds a single burner at the bottom of the tandoor. An MS baffle plate above the burner spreads the heat evenly on the clay walls. The flame heats the clay chamber, the clay holds and spreads the heat, and you cook on the hot clay wall and on skewers. A regulator keeps the gas pressure steady.
A single burner sits under the clay chamber. An MS baffle plate above the burner spreads the gas heat evenly on the clay walls. The burner size and flame setting decide how fast it heats and how much gas it uses.
The clay drum holds the heat and gives the all-round tandoor heat that cooks naan on the wall and tikka on skewers.
The regulator controls the gas pressure and the pipe carries gas from the cylinder or PNG line to the burner.
Short answer: You can order a gas version of any Forno Sethi tandoor. We fit a single gas burner and set the gas pipe to suit the tandoor, so one tandoor can be a charcoal tandoor or a gas tandoor.
Not every kitchen wants the same fuel. Tell us the commercial tandoor you like, such as a square or round restaurant tandoor, and say you want gas. We fit the burner and adjust the pipe so it sits correctly, and we set the nozzle for LPG or PNG. If you want to use charcoal sometimes as well, ask about our hybrid option.
See the full size list on our restaurant tandoor page.
Short answer: The gas use depends on the size of the burner and how high you keep the flame. A bigger burner on a high flame uses more gas, and a smaller flame uses less. We do not quote one fixed figure because it changes with your tandoor size and your cooking.
Easy to set up – There is little to install. Place the tandoor, connect the gas and cure it before you start cooking.
Cure it properly first – Heat the new clay tandoor slowly, in stages, before regular cooking. This is the most important step. See the curing guide.
Confirm LPG or PNG first – The nozzle is different for each gas, so confirm your gas before you order.
Ventilation – Use the tandoor where there is good ventilation, and plan a hood or exhaust in a closed kitchen, because the tandoor makes a lot of heat.
Gas connection – Have the pipe and regulator fitted and checked for leaks by a qualified gas fitter, and keep the cylinder in a safe place away from the heat.
Keep clear of flammables – Keep cloth, paper and oil away from the tandoor mouth and the burner area.
Short answer: Gas tandoors suit any kitchen that wants tandoor cooking with quick start-up and easy control, from a small cafe to a hotel kitchen or a catering setup.
You can cook naan, tandoori roti, kulcha, chicken tikka, paneer tikka, seekh kebab and other skewer items. For high volume service, see our banquet and catering tandoors.
Pan India delivery – We deliver by part-load transport to keep freight cost low. Far cities such as Bengaluru can take about 7 to 14 days in transit.
Packing and transport – Quoted for your pin code before you pay.
6 month warranty – On the tandoor, with clay repair and spare parts available.
